Becca Bakker is the owner and founder of the Growth Group, and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in my hometown of Maple Grove, MN! I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities before going on to achieve my Master’s degree from the University of St. Thomas. After a near decade of working in education, outpatient, day treatment facilities, non-profit and in-home settings I felt called to open The Growth Group in 2024.
My practice brings a person-centered, strength-based, holistic approach to each session. I cultivate a space where clients feel empowered and confident in navigating their wellness. My work leans on positive psychology and a relational approach – and I often integrate the mind-body connection. Therapy sessions involve exploring thoughts, feelings, behaviors, play, and relationships. My therapeutic 'sweet spots' are working with anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, behavioral disorders, trauma, stress management, financial stress, autism-spectrum disorders, and parenting.
